Here are my 2 new portraits of James Dean & Marilyn Monroe. Both are 4 colour screenprints, hand printed on Somerset Velvet white paper. Each layer has been originated with a hand drawing in Pencil, Crayon & Pen. Various elements of ink were then splatted across the image. In keeping with my Circles Collection, abstract circles have been included around the image. They have both been designed to work as a pair.

Portrait of James Dean: Despite only having 3 starring acting roles, his untimely death at a very early age cemented him into legendary status. His iconic Silver Porsche was nicknamed ‘Little Bastard’ by James Dean himself. |
Iconic Portrait of Marilyn Monroe: Her baptised name was Norma Jeane and the portrait shows the tragic nature of the Marilyn Monroe story, with reference to the classic Warhol image. |
Here are some close-up of Norma’s Dream

The black layer has been created with a pen and part of the image has been removed by crayon. This has then been printing in thick black ink with a silver pigment, so it sparkles when you walk past it.

Thick ink has been over-layed and deliberately mis-registered.

Here you can see the layers of ink and the texture of the paper coming through.

These have all been hand printed by myself at InkSpotPress. Here is a quick photo of them drying after the second application of ink.

These are signed limited edition prints. 25 Editions have been made each authentically embossed with my stamp.
